Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are substances that are injected under the surface of the skin in an effort to fill areas where there is a deficit of tissue. In the hands of our highly trained and skilled nurses, the appropriate Dermal Filler is an artistic tool that can take years off of your face. Collagen, hyaluronic acid, and fat are common forms of Dermal Fillers, although you will probably recognize them under their brand names of Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane, just to name a few.

What conditions are treated with Dermal Fillers?

There are many conditions which may be effectively treated with Dermal Fillers. Among the most frequently injected areas are the deep lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasal-labial folds), the lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines), and the deep grooves that often form between the eyebrows. Thin or asymmetrical lips can be plumped and contoured to take apparent years off of the face. Facial scarring from injury or acne can also be corrected with Dermal Filler injections.

Who can get Dermal Fillers?

There are very few people who cannot get Dermal Fillers. Anyone over the age of 18 with hollow areas or volume deficit on their face may be a candidate for this treatment.

How often will I need Dermal Fillers?

The frequency with which you will need additional Dermal Filler treatments will be determined by the type of Filler you have used, where it is placed, and your perception of your appearance.
